About the cover art  

The cover of number LIII.01 features "Wilno 1936" ("Vilnius 1936") by Kazimierz Wiszniewski (1894-1960).  Wiszniewski was a painter and graphic artist who, after graduating from the Institute for the Hearing Impaired in Warsaw studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under the direction of Ignacy Pieńkowski and Stanisław Lentz.  He illustrated books and ex libris.  We gratefully acknowledge the permission of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of Canada, from whose book Grafika polska, Estampes polonaises, Polish Prints 1918-1939 we reprint his work on our cover.
